Yeast Cellular Respiration

During the cell unit students learned how cells unlock energy in food. More specifically in the mitochondria oxygen reacts with glucose to release energy, carbon dioxide and water. In the video below students got to observe yeast cells doing this process. Bromothymol blue solution turns yellow when carbon dioxide is present.
